The essential role of precision measurement
In the highly competitive landscape of machine tool manufacturing, positioning accuracy and repeatability is not just a goal – they are fundamental requirements. At DTI, we know that investing in state-of-the-art measuring resources, such as Renishaw XL 80 and Hamar L-742 lasers, is vital for our success and the satisfaction of our customers. Therefore, our rigorous measuring protocols are in place to guarantee that every component meets the exact specifications.
As our industry evolves, so do customer requirements. They expect not only high-quality products but also innovations that enhance productivity and efficiency. A key element in meeting these expectations is precise dimensional control. It guarantees the highest accuracy.
What tools do we use in our measurement room?
- Measuring rails- over 20 rails of various lengths (from 1000 to 3000 mm length) enabling us to precisely set and measure various elements.
- Angles and angle pins- they help in achieving the correct orientation and alignment of parts during assembly.
- Gauge blocks- serves as a reference standard, ensuring that other measurements are accurate.
- Granite cube- with dimension of 1000 mm x 800 mm x 600 mm and weight 1500 kg, its stability and resistance to thermal expansion make it ideal for ensuring accurate measurements in all axes
- Lasers:
HAMAR L-742 – with only alignment systems in the world to offer 2 automatically rotating laser planes with the extreme high accuracy needed for today’s ever-tightening tolerances. In our configuration we have 1 horizontal and 1 vertical laser plane for measuring flatness, straightness and squareness of surfaces. This creates a powerful tool that also fixes complex alignment problems in a fraction of the time needed with conventional methods.
Laser Renishaw XL 80 – The accuracy of linear measurements is ensured at the level of ±0.5 ppm thanks to the use of a precise, stabilized laser light source and accurate compensation of environmental influences. Readings can be taken at up to 50 kHz, with a maximum linear measurement rate of 4 m/s and a linear resolution of 1 nm, even at maximum speed. All measurement options (not only linear measurement) are based on interferometric measurements, which ensures the accuracy of the recorded data.

Also on board: altimeters, diameter gauges, micrometers, roughness gauges, microscopes, hardness testers, measuring prisms and 2000mm x 2000mm granite table.
