Tailor-made modernization of old Waldrich Coburg machine
When our customer to whom we have already delivered 4 heavy duty planer mills said he was looking for another one but with a lower budget we started looking for a solution.
We found on the market an old Waldrich Coburg machine from 1985 listed for sale and made the offer. One year later this completely modernized milling machine is in production. Rigid, powerful, modern …. and less expensive that a new one.
We have integrated new Siemens CNC control system Sinumerk 840D sl followed by new drives, new wiring and power tracks, new electrical cabinet and new pendant. We have installed Heidenhain absolute linear measuring scales and workpiece probing. The complete mechanics have been inspected and replaced when needed (new bearings, ways scraping, new telescopic covers and new chip conveyors). We have adapted the spindle to originally designed and manufactured by DTI powerful angular heads. To machine in fully automatic cycle we have installed OTT Jakob clamping system on the spindle accompanied by a tool changer and a head changer. The complete hydraulic, pneumatic and lubrication systems have been rebuilt. At the end we have delivered new manuals, personalized training program for the operators and maintenance department and CE certificate.
